Michigan Certified Florist!

Congratulations to Doug!!!!! He is now a Michigan Certified Florist! He joins a very distinguished list of talented florist who are dedicated to their profession. The Michigan Certified Florist program was created in 1997 by the Michigan Floral Association to establish a recognizable talent and quality standard through the retail floral industry. Retail floral shops that employ certified florist display a circular seal in their window for easier consumer recognition.

The Michigan Floral Association is a full-service trade organization representing more than 1,000 florist, growers, and wholesalers.

This is a great accomplishment and we are so proud of the God given talent!!

Wedding Season Is Underway

Wedding Season us under way!! We've had fun so far this summer season creating some beautiful flowers for our brides. We've had some unique graduation centerpieces and some upcoming reunions that we are really looking forward to creating floral arrangements for.

We soon will be adding e-commerce to our site! This will be an exciting and much needed addition. We look forward to the convenience it will provide our customers. So look for that soon.

We also will have special hours over this holiday week. We will be closed Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4th, reopening at regular business hours on Monday July, 6th. We hope that you have a safe holiday weekend.

Mother's Day!!

Mother's Day is Sunday May 10th!! Our award winning designer has created a stunning glass cube encompassed in curly willow and filled with the season's best blooms. This is an arrangement sure to bring a smile to her face! Spring is here!

Well, Spring is in full swing here at Vogt's. We just held our second successful Prom Open House, and Easter season is always a blessing. Now it's time to gear up for Mother's Day/Prom weekend. We will soon have geraniums, begonias, impatients, and hanging baskets of all sorts!! Keep watching in the next few weeks for all the exciting things coming in!

Prom 2009 Open House

Hey if you are going to Prom or have kiddos going to prom you'll want to know about this!!!

PROM OPEN HOUSE Wedneday April 15th from 6-8 p.m. Because of the overwhelming success of last years event we will be hosting it at Expressions by Erin Photography Studio located next to Lowry's Bookstore in downtown Sturgis. There will be reps from Ludders Tuxedo and Cleaners to fit the guys for their tuxes, and we will of course be on hand to walk the kids through selecting the PERFECT flowers to reflect their taste and style! We will be serving refreshments as well as having ROCK BAND set up on the playstation. So tell all your friends, it will be a BLAST!! See you there!

Your Favorite Florist Takes First!

So we bring you exciting news from the annual Spring Conference of the Michigan Floral Association!! Our very own Doug entered a Design contest where you were required to submit designs in 3 categories in order to compete for Designer of the Year. This included a wedding bouquet, a personalized sympathy tribute and a wedding centerpiece with a coordinating story board. While we didn't fare too well in the other categories (this year) Doug took first for his "Trendy Inspirations" Wedding centerpiece. We will work on acheiving Designer of the Year in the future.

Also Doug has passed the written portion of his certification, and he will take the hands-on session this June. What does this mean to you, our customer? Doug will be recognized as a Michigan Certified Florist which means he has passed rigorous testing in the care and handling, and identification of fresh cut flowers, foliages and green and blooming plants, and also the all around requirements necessary to operate a successful floral shop from a business standpoint. Translated we have a pretty talented florist in our town!
